Gum Grafting
Soft tissue (gum) grafting can help cover root surfaces exposed by receded gums. These exposed root surfaces can be sensitive to cold or touch, which may be helped by soft tissue grafting. Soft tissue grafting can also help thicken your tissue to help prevent further recession.
Implant Placement
Implants can replace the root portion of teeth you have lost. Implants can replace one tooth, multiple teeth, or help stabilize your denture or partial denture. Implant procedures will be completed in conjunction with your general dentist, who will create the crown, bridge, or denture that connects to your implant.
Oral Medicine
Medication can be prescribed to patients who need oral biopsies, have conditions their dentists aren't sure how to treat, or before a procedure if they have anxiety related to dental procedures.
Crown Lengthening
Crown lengthening procedures can either be performed to help make enough space for a crown or to lengthen the appearance of your front teeth to create a more esthetic smile. These procedures will be done in conjunction with your general dentist, and possibly an orthodontist, for optimal outcomes.
Regenerative Procedures
Along with periodontal pocket reduction, some periodontal defects can support tissue and bone regrowth. In these cases, regenerative procedures may be combined with pocket reduction procedures. Your treatment plan will be individualized to fit your needs.
Periodontal Pocket Reduction
When a deep cleaning alone is not enough to stabilize your periodontal health, we can continue therapy with periodontal pocket reduction procedures. These procedures focus on reducing the distance between the top of your gum tissue and bone. This reduction allows your brushing and flossing at home to be as effective as possible.
Cleanings
Scaling and root planing (deep cleaning) is often the first step to improving and stabilizing your periodontal health. It consists of removing calculus (mineralized bacteria) and any bacteria that are stuck to your root surfaces. This allows your body to start to heal itself.
Periodontal Exam
A comprehensive periodontal examination will assess the health of your bone and gum tissue, teeth, and bite, as well as plaque and risk factors for disease.
